Sebewaing Township – Two vehicles carrying seven people crashed in Michigan’s Thumb region, killing one and injuring the others, authorities said.

The crash occurred Sunday in Huron County’s Sebewaing Township. Six people were taken to hospitals, including some with serious injuries, Sheriff Kelly Hanson said Monday.

A van driven by Ashley Horetski, 35, of Port Austin failed to stop at an intersection, striking a car with three people, Hanson said. Both vehicles rolled.

The driver of the car, Gerald Steinbis, 58, of Bad Axe, was killed.

The crash remains under investigation.
