Grant program available for humanities-based nonprofits

Associated Press

Okemos – A grant program has been created to assist humanities-based nonprofit organizations in Michigan that are working to address social, economic and cultural issues of systemic inequality.

Michigan Humanities’ Bridging Michigan grant opportunities are available for projects that address different themes and use a variety of public humanities formats like reflective conversations, reading series and film screenings.

A free online conversation series kicked off this summer and will continue through the fall, according to Okemos-based Michigan Humanities.

Michigan Humanities awards grants for public humanities and cultural programs, conducts public humanities and cultural projects of statewide importance, initiates collaborations and partnerships to broaden and strengthen the organizational and institutional base for the humanities in Michigan and provides the humanities with leadership and a public voice.
