Man found dead after reported explosion at Northfield Twp. home
Northfield Township — Police were called to a Northfield Township residence Sunday morning for a possible home collapse and found a 60-year-old man dead.
The man was found in a bedroom in the home in the 200 block of Barker around 11:41 a.m. Police reported there was minor structural damage to the residence, according to a statement from Northfield Township Public Safety.
Two other people in the home were not injured, police said.
Michigan State Police said the call originally came over as an explosion at a residence.
The Michigan State Police bomb squad and an agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed the residence was safe Sunday afternoon.
Police continue to investigate and the incident is not considered a criminal case, police said Sunday afternoon.
