Tribal eagle aviary planned 'to put a place on map for Michigan'

Someday, a forested tract in northern Michigan could transform into a haven for sick, injured eagles — and a place where enthusiasts of birds of prey can flock.

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians is pushing ahead with plans for what coordinators believe would be the first tribal eagle aviary and raptor center east of the Mississippi River.
