Death after Hank Williams Jr. concert ruled homicide
Independence Township — The Oakland County medical examiner’s office has ruled as a homicide the death of a 55-year-old man after a confrontation with a teenager at a Hank Williams Jr. concert at DTE Energy Music Theatre.
Sheriff’s officials announced the finding Friday as they investigate Tuesday’s death of Westland resident Robert Kobe. Authorities say a 15-year-old boy shoved Kobe in the concert venue’s concourse Sunday, and he struck his head on the concrete.
The sheriff’s department says it expects to finish its investigation by the end of next week and present it to prosecutors. The Wayne teen was released pending the investigation’s completion.
