Waterford Township — Police released a store surveillance video this week in hopes of identifying a suspect in a Sept. 7 attempted armed robbery of a Hungry Howie's Pizzeria.

A 26-year-old female worker said about 9 p.m. a white, six-foot-tall man — dressed in a red, white and black hooded sweatshirt, dark shorts and bandana — entered the pizzeria in the 3000 block of Highland Road, pointed a semi-automatic handgun at her and demanded money.

When she told him she was unable to open the cash register, the would-be thief fled empty handed and was last seen running south from the building.

Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and asked anyone with information about him to call (248) 618-6105, or an anonymous tip line at (248) 674-COPS.
