Sylvan Lake — An unhitched boat on a trailer went crashing through a glass window of a building on Orchard Lake Road Wednesday morning, according to the owner.

The incident happened around 8 a.m., said Paul Tarnas, the owner of Visions Optical. No one was injured.

Tarnas said he is in the final stages of moving his business into the impacted building at 2615 Orchard Lake Road, across the street from his current location. He had plans to go before the zoning board Thursday night.

“It’s been a long road to get the building approved through the city over a year and a half,” Tarnas said. “It’s kind of appropriate something else happened. It’s frustrating. Luckily, it does not look like the structure of the building is damaged. Just the glass.”

The boat was taken away. Tarnas said he’ll replace the window and hopes to be open by the end of the year.
