Barricaded gunman in custody in Pontiac

Pontiac — A man was taken into custody Friday after a standoff lasting more than four hours, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.

Police received a call around 2:30 a.m. that shots had been fired on Emerson between University Drive and Featherstone Street.

A SWAT team responded and found the man barricaded inside a residence. He was taken into custody around 7 a.m.

Police said no shots were fired by officers or the suspect after police arrived.

No further information was released about the incident.
