— The Oakland County Sheriff's Office gave 300 lucky residents an assist with Christmas dinner Tuesday.

Deputies passed out hams, donated by Dr. Frank Patino and former Pistons player James Edwards, to surprised and happy residents as part of "Operation Pig Out."

"We as an agency are proud to make our citizens' holiday seasons a little brighter through these types of outreach efforts," said Sheriff Michael Bouchard. "Only with great private sector sponsors are we able to fill unmet community needs, and this will help 300 families have a tasty holiday dinner."
