Suspects in abduction case arrested
Farmington Hills — Acting on a tip from a citizen, police have arrested a man and a woman believed to be involved in the abduction and assault of a woman on Wednesday night.
“We were able to make an arrest after a citizen contacted us on Thursday who said they had seen the suspects in the area of 11 Mile and Drake,” said Lt. Daniel Rodriguez.
“We located the car they had stolen and then, after a brief foot pursuit, the suspects were arrested. They are currently being held here at our jail.”
Farmington Hills police will present their case to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office some time Friday for possible charges.
The manhunt for the two suspects began at about 11 p.m. Wednesday when a 42-year-old woman told police she had been attacked when entering her building at the Fairmont Park Apartment complex, located near Nine Mile and Drake.
The victim said the couple attacked her and tried to force her into her vehicle, but she was able to escape. The woman, who was treated at a local hospital and then released, said the suspects also made off with her purse, cellphone, laptop and books.
The victim has stated that she didn’t recognize her attackers.
