Rochester Hills — Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old man who was found unresponsive in a car parked in the driveway of a home Tuesday night.

According to authorities, it appears the body had been in the vehicle for 11 1/2 to 14 1/2 hours before it was discovered.

Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a home in the 1900 block of Ansal at about 8:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.

The caller had removed the man from the vehicle and was performing CPR when personnel from the Rochester Hills Fire Department arrived and took over.

The subject was transported to Crittenton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

An investigation showed the man had arrived at the home some time between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. but had never gone inside.

According to authorities, the man had a history of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia was found inside the car. It was determined he had also suffered from hypothermia due to extremely cold temperatures.

Sheriff’s department detectives were called to the scene as well as an investigator from the office of the Oakland County Medical Examiner, which will conduct an autopsy.
