Farmington Hills woman killed in Saturday car crash
A 45-year-old Farmington Hills woman was killed in a single-car accident on M-10 near I-696 on Saturday.
Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw would not release the woman’s name Sunday morning pending notification of family members.
The woman was traveling in the center lane of northbound M-10 at about 6:10 pm when she lost control of her vehicle and struck the left median wall, according to police.
Witnesses told police the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting the driver, who was the lone occupant. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation indicates that both alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash, according to the press release from the Michigan State Police.
The Michigan State Police were assisted at the scene by Southfield Fire and Rescue, and the Southfield Police Department.
