Funeral services held for Lake Orion marine

Lake Orion —Funeral services were held for Staff Sgt. Trevor P. Blaylock at United Methodist Church of Lake Orion Saturday.

Blaylock, 29, formerly of Lake Orion along with Staff Sgts. Marcus Bawol and Andrew Seif of Holland were killed in a Black Hawk helicopter crash March 10.

They were among seven Marines and four Army soldiers killed when the helicopter crashed along Florida's Panhandle in a nighttime training exercise in dense fog.

Those killed were all stationed at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina. All were from the 2nd Special Operations Battalion of the Marine Corps Special Operations Command.

Blaylock swam on the varsity swim team at Lake Orion High School. According to the obituary posted on the website of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion, after graduation, Blaylock attended Central Michigan University and Henry Ford Community College.

In 2006, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was previously stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.

Blaylock served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Al Anbar Province. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

He is survived by his wife of seven years Lisa and daughters Annabelle and Evelyn.

Blaylock and his wife lived in California for three years and then relocated to North Carolina. He is also survived by his father and mother Jon and Katherine Blaylock of Lake Orion and brother of Matthew Blaylock.
