Southfield City Hall and the Southfield Public Library were closed Monday due to a 12-inch water main break, officials announced.

The break in front of City Hall occurred during work on the Evergreen Road construction project. Water service is expected to be restored to the buildings by 5 p.m., according to city officials.

City Hall and the library are expected to reopen for business Tuesday.

Monday evening’s City Council meeting has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Tuesday due to the break.
