Man, 60, with ‘medical issue’ plows into Rochester Hills house
A 60-year-old man was injured Tuesday evening after accidentally driving his car into a house in Rochester Hills, Oakland County Sheriff’s officials said.
The Shelby Township resident apparently “had a medical issue prior to the accident,” reported about 6:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of Chestnut Lane, said Sgt. Scott Howden of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
His car plowed into part of the basement of the house, which was unoccupied at the time, Howden said.
The Rochester Hills Fire Department pulled the driver from the car and he was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, Howden said. The man was expected to stay overnight for observation.
A gaping hole at the house has since been boarded up, Howden said.
