Southfield — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed a bank on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Southfield Police Department, the robbery occurred at about 3:30 p.m. at the Fifth Third Bank at 23633 Greenfield. At that time, the suspect approached a teller and inquired about making a bank transfer.

The man then wrote onto a bank slip and handed it over to the teller. The slip advised the teller to turn over the money in their cash drawer, which the teller did.

The suspect then fled the bank on foot. The teller was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male, 35 to 50 years of age, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a red baseball type cap and glasses.
