Pontiac homeowner finds body during eviction
Pontiac — An eviction of a renter led to a grim discovery Monday afternoon — the man’s body in the back of the closet of the home.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, the discovery was made at about 3 p.m. Monday at a home in the 300 block of Prospect.
Responding police and medical personnel determined that the deceased had been in the closet for some time. It is believed to have been dead for at least two weeks — the last time a neighbor recalls having seen him.
A positive identification and cause of death are pending an autopsy by the medical examiner’s office.
However, the deceased is believed to be a 55-year-old man who was renting the home. Neighbors told police they hadn’t seen him for at least two weeks.
The death remains under investigation.
