A 16-year-old boy died Monday after being pulled from a pool at a Southfield apartment complex, police said.

Officers were called to the Sutton Place Apartments in the 23000 block of Riverside Drive about 3:48 p.m. on a report of a possible drowning there.

When they arrived, the officers found the 16 year old unresponsive at the swimming pool, according to a statement from the Southfield Police Department.

City fire officials transported the teen, an Oak Park resident, to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Police Department is investigating the incident. Other details were not released Monday evening.
