Pontiac — Oakland County Sheriff's deputies helped revive a suspected heroin overdose victim early Tuesday with a Narcan kit — the 10th such save by the department since March.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Jackson about 1:30 a.m. on a report of an unresponsive man. Paramedics and Waterford Regional firefighters were performing CPR when it was learned the 44-year-old Ortonville man may have collapsed after he injected heroin.

After deputies administered the Narcan nasal spray, the man began to recover and was taken to an area hospital for further treatment. Narcan reverses the effects of heroin and other drugs.
