Waterford Twp. teen shot in Pontiac

Pontaic — A 14-year-old teen is in stable condition after he was shot in the stomach early Wednesday, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

A resident of Waterford Township, the boy was shot around 12:25 a.m. on Maxwell Road near Featherstone, officials said. He was transported by a friend to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland, where deputies responded to investigate.

According to police, the victim received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Several people outside of the hospital told deputies that the shooting occurred on Maxwell. Deputies went to the street and found four shell casings laying on the sidewalk.

Deputies interviewed several witnesses, including one who said she heard several gunshots coming from Featherstone.

At this point, authorities have no information on a suspect in the shooting.
