Ferndale — Authorities say thieves have stolen ATMs from two businesses.

WDIV-TV and WWJ-AM report thieves early Wednesday pulled the cash machines out of Cash Connection in Hazel Park and a Marathon gas station in Ferndale.

Gas station worker Gary Ruskevitz tells WWJ that someone pried open the door, hooked up a chain from a vehicle to the ATM and proceeded to “yank it right out of the wall.” At the payday loan store, a vehicle smashed through the glass doors.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage and investigating whether the thefts are connected.
