Auburn Hills — Police seek witnesses to a fatal accident the killed a 50-year-old Clinton Township woman Saturday night on M-59 in Oakland County.

Police responded to an report of a pedestrian being struck by at least one vehicle in the the eastbound lanes near Opdyke Road about 10 p.m.. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Auburn Hills police said.

The investigation indicates it wasn’t a pedestrian who was hit, according to Lt. Jill McDonnell.

“We believe she was a passenger on a motorcycle being driven by someone else,” McDonnell said. “Whether she fell or jumped off the motorcycle remains unclear.”

McDonnell said “it is believed we have identified all vehicles involved.” She confirmed the victim’s age and hometown but said the woman’s name was being withheld Sunday. McDonnell said no one has been charged in the death or is in custody, including the suspected motorcycle driver.

Members of the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team a group made up of accident officers from Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township and Troy, were investigating the death, according to a news release.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
