Waterford Township — A man was arraigned Thursday on a misdemeanor moving violation after he fatally struck an 86-year-old man last month, according to police.

Waterford Township resident Steven Patrick Roux was arraigned in 51st District Court on a moving violation causing death, a one-year misdemeanor charge, police said.

He was released on a personal bond. His next court date has not yet been scheduled.

Roux is accused of hitting Waterford Township resident Harold Poduska, who was walking his dog around 9:50 a.m. Sept. 14 on Tangle Wood in the Fox Run Condominiums near Elizabeth and Hospital roads, police said. Roux was driving a 2005 Cadillac SUV at the time of the crash.

Poduska was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. His dog was uninjured.

Roux, who was wearing his seat belt, also was not hurt in the crash.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Waterford Police Investigator Sgt. Kevin Kazyak at (248) 618-6073. Anonymous tipsters can contact the Tip Line at (248) 674-COPS.
