Waterford Township — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who broke into a BP gas station late Tuesday night after making entry by breaking a window.

According to police, the robbery occurred about 11:30 p.m. at a service station at 7000 Cooley Lake Road. The owner of the station showed arriving officers where a window in the southwest corner of the building had been broken with a rock.

A surveillance video showed the robber repeatedly jumping over the station counter as he stole cigarettes and other merchandise that he piled into a small trash can.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s.

He was wearing a winter pull over hat, gray shirt, black Carhartt type jacket, jeans and red high top gym shoes with black trim.
