The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help finding a man who robbed and tried to shoot the owner of a Pontiac bar Wednesday.

Police said B&E’s bar in the 400 block of North Perry was robbed about 11:15 p.m.

The bar’s manager told deputies she was sitting in the bar’s back office when she saw the man enter. He walked into the office area, forced his way in and pointed a handgun at her, she told police.

The woman told police he ordered her to open the safe. She also told them he pulled the trigger twice, but the gun misfired. The incident was captured on video and the clicks of the trigger are audible.

The man took about $1,200 from the safe and left the bar, according to authorities. Police searched the area with a canine unit, but were unable to locate the suspect.

He is described as a light-skinned African-American in his mid-30s with a beard and wearing a green North Face jacket.
