IRS auctions lakefront home in Bloomfield Hills
Bloomfield Hills— Available to the highest bidder, providing that bidder can plunk down at least $230,000, is a lakefront home in Bloomfield Hills, “free and clear of all liens and interests,” seized by the Internal Revenue Service in a tax case.
The 1955-built home has more than 2,500 square feet of living space, which contains three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is on Meadow Lake.
The minimum bid accepted is $230,000, but those interested must have $23,000 in cash to even be able to place a bid. The property is being auctioned off as is.
There will be two open houses at 6735 Meadowlake Road on Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The auction takes place the next day at 10 a.m.
The successful bidder must pay the purchase price in full within 60 days of the auction, and the sale will be declared final by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
