Man arrested for allegedly pushing officer in Troy
Troy — Officers responding to a fight arrested one man for assault and battery of an officer Sunday and issued citations to six others for drinking under the age of 21, according to police.
Officers arrived around 2:45 a.m. to a home on the 4000 block of Wentworth Avenue, where a 19-year-old man from Troy initially allowed them to enter, police said.
The man “had second thoughts as the first officer walked in,” police said in a statement. “(He) tried to push the officer outside the home and was arrested.”
Officers smelled alcohol on the man’s breath, police said. He was charged with assault and battery of an officer and consuming alcohol under the age of 21.
Six other occupants of the home, all Troy residents aged 18- to 20-years-old, also were determined to be intoxicated, police said. They submitted to breathalyzer tests, which produced results ranging from 0.1 percent to 0.18 percent.
The six were released after police issued misdemeanor citations for consuming alcohol under the age of 21.
