A driver who went off-course caused structural damage to a home Sunday evening in Rochester Hills, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on Monday.

The driver may have been experiencing medical issues, police say, while traveling westbound on Tienken about 6 p.m. Sunday.

The car crossed over into the eastbound lanes, then left the roadway altogether, traveling through a vacant field and crashing into the back of a house on the 800 block of Timberline Drive, according to police.

Both the driver of the vehicle and the occupants of the home were unhurt by the incident, though the house did sustain structural damage.

Rochester Hills firefighters soon disconnected the gas line to the residence and shored up the home’s foundation.

The driver was taken to Crittendon Hospital in Rochester Hills for a medical evaluation.
