Waterford man arraigned in shooting death of girlfriend
A Waterford Township man has been arraigned for murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend.
Joseph John Lesneskie, 44, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the death of Erica McFadden, 34, of Waterford.
Waterford police say a relative asked at about 5:30 p.m. Friday for them to do a welfare check on McFadden and when they arrived at the home on the 200 block of Tilmor they found her, dead.
Police say Lesneskie told investigators he had shot McFadden during an argument.
Lesneskie was arraigned Tuesday in 51st District Court. The murder charge carries a life sentence, the firearms charge a two-year sentence. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 10.
Lesneskie is being held in the Oakland County Jail.
