NB Lodge at Telegraph reopens after fatal crash
A driver was killed early Friday on the Lodge Freeway (M-10) at Telegraph while sitting in a stalled vehicle that was struck from behind in Southfield, according to Michigan State Police.
“It was stalled in the center lane and a second vehicle couldn’t stop in time,” Lt. Mike Shaw said of the 7:45 a.m. crash.
“The driver of the stalled vehicle was killed,” Shaw said. “The second driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.”
All lanes on northbound M-10 reopened by 10:45 a.m. after being shut down following the crash, according to MDOT.
State police are investigating the crash, including whether the second driver was at fault for the crash, Shaw said.
“We’re just in the very beginning stages” of the investigation, he said.
Police are not releasing information about those involved, pending notification of next-of-kin.
