Oakland County Sheriff’s authorities are hunting for a man they say robbed a Pontiac Family Dollar at gunpoint on Friday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the store near Baldwin and Columbia at about 2:40 p.m. after customers and employees reported an armed masked man trying to rob the location, sheriff’s officials said.

After authorities arrived on scene they cleared the store, surrounded the building and blocked off nearby streets. By then, the man had already fled with items, investigators said, but they haven’t disclosed what was taken.

No injuries were reported.

The suspectis described as heavy-set and between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a T-shirt and was armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-TURN-1-IN.
