Oakland County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a crash in Highland Township that seriously injured a motorcyclist Thursday night.

A 19-year-old Wixom man was driving a Suzuki GSX 600 south on Duck Lake Road at about 10:16 p.m. when he struck a 2011 Dodge Durango as it turned left onto Cherry Street, investigators said in statement.

EMS rushed the teen to McLaren Oakland hospital in Pontiac, where he was listed in serious condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Dodge driver, a 39-year-old Highland man, was not injured in the crash and it isn’t clear if he wore a seat belt at the time, county officials said Friday.

The biker was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol or drugs might have been a factor in the accident, investigators said.
