Royal Oak police and FBI officials are investigating a robbery reported at a TCF bank in the city on Monday afternoon.

A man allegedly walked into the bank on the 1800 block of Crooks just after noon then “passed a note to a teller demanding money, and implied he was armed,” officials said in a statement.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the man ran south on Pleasant, where investigators believe the suspect likely escaped in a vehicle parked there, according to the release.

Officers arrived on the scene, set a perimeter and began searching for the suspect with help from a Southfield K-9 but couldn’t find him.

Authorities on Monday night released surveillance images of the suspect, who is described as a white male, 5-foot-8, between 20 and 30 years old, with a thin build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a plain white T-shirt, black jeans and white framed sunglasses.
