Ford Fusion sought in Farmington Hills fatal accident

The Detroit News

Police in Farmington Hills are looking for a Ford Fusion they say may have been involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist from Detroit.

The 2010-12 steel blue Fusion has damage to the driver’s side front end.

Police say Clanton Wimberley, 55, was killed about 12:30 a.m. Saturday after his motorcycle was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup while both were traveling south on Northwestern Highway north of 13 Mile. The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old man from Dearborn, fled the scene. He later went with this vehicle to the Dearborn Police Department to turn himself in.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.

The Farmington Hills Traffic Safety Section is investigating and will present information to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.

Anyone who may have seen the accident or may have information regarding the Fusion, is asked to call (248) 871-2610.
