Oakland County Sheriff’s officials are seeking suspects they say were involved in the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man in Pontiac.

Several people told investigators they saw three males interacting with the resident on Motor Street sometime Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

“During the interaction one of the suspects produced a pistol and fired multiple shots at the victim,” the release read.

Witnesses said the 37-year-old chased the group for about a block before someone fired another shot at him. All three males ran down Motor Street, then east on either Crystal Lake or South Boulevard, investigators said.

The victim “walked back north one block before collapsing near Motor St. and Hughes,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

That’s where deputies found him lying on a sidewalk. They rendered aid until Star EMS arrived and transported him to McLaren Oakland hospital in Pontiac, where he was pronounced dead at 3:59 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Once a perimeter was erected near the scene, several K9 units as well as an aviation unit searched but failed to find the suspects.

A full description of the three was not available Wednesday night.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 1-888-TURN-1-IN or 1-800-773-2587.
