Oakland County Sheriff’s officials are seeking a suspect they say shot a woman Tuesday night in Pontiac.

The 47-year-old victim told deputies she “had been standing near the intersection of E. Montcalm Ave. and N. Perry Street when she was shot at from the northeast corner” by someone wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, authorities said in a statement.

The woman, who had gunshot wounds to both forearms, said she drove from the scene to her residence. Her boyfriend then transported the woman to McLaren Oakland hospital.

Deputies recovered shell casings at the intersection and a bullet fragment in the victim’s vehicle, officials said Wednesday. A sheriff’s K-9 unit responded but failed to find a trail. Investigators also checked nearby businesses for possible video footage.

A witness described the alleged shooter as an African-American male, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a large Afro.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at (248) 858-4951, 1-888-TURN-1-IN or 1-800-773-2587.
