A woman was hospitalized with a broken wrist Thursday evening after she was run over during an argument in Royal Oak Township, according to Michigan State Police.

The victim initially was witness to a verbal argument between two other women around 8:10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Royal Inn at 10900 West Eight Mile, police said.

“The victim walked over and became involved in the argument,” police said. “The victim walked away (and) the suspect entered her vehicle and ran over the victim.”

The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect remained at large Friday but has been identified by police as a “transient” individual.

The identities of the suspect and victim were not publicly released.

“Further information will be released as the investigation continues,” police said.
