Investigators from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office are working to find whoever it was that shot a man five times and pistol-whipped another man early Sunday morning, as well as the prostitute who is believed to have witnessed the entire thing, police said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call at the 100 block of Norton in Pontiac at about 2:47 a.m. Sunday.

There they found two victims: a 22-year-old man who’d been shot twice in the stomach and three times in the back, and a 34-year-old man whose face had been pistol-whipped. A woman was also there, but hadn’t been harmed.

The men told police that two unknown men, covering their faces, had kicked in the door and demanded money. The 34-year-old man hid his wallet, but had his cellphone taken. Authorities say he was pistol-whipped in the forehead despite that compliance.

He told police that he heard the two men talking to the 22-year-old man in a bedroom, then heard gunshots and saw the man fall onto the bed, then the floor, before the men fled.

The victims told police that they’d hired a prostitute, who was at the home during the robbery, but was gone by the time police arrived. Police are trying to locate her.

While the pistol-whipped man refused medical condition, Star EMS took the shooting victim to McLaren Osteopathic Hospital, where he was in critical condition and scheduled for surgery at last report.

There is no suspect description at this point.
