A pedestrian died Thursday night after she was struck by two vehicles while crossing Telegraph in Pontiac, Oakland County Sheriff’s officials said.

The 55-year-old woman had been walking outside the crosswalk near Edna at about 6:50 p.m. when a 2013 Ford Fusion headed south hit her, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The woman was then struck a second time by a 2007 Toyota Corolla, deputies learned.

Emergency personnel pronounced the woman, identified only as a Pontiac resident, dead at the scene.

The two drivers involved were not believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time, sheriff’s investigators said. They cooperated with deputies and were not in custody Thursday night.

It was not known if the pedestrian had alcohol or drugs in her system before the incident, sheriff’s officials said.

The crash remained under investigation.
