A man the FBI believed was posing as a Google employee when he entered an Auburn Hills private school last week had legitimate business at the school, officials said Tuesday.

A man posing as a Google employee entered Oakland Christian School around 3 p.m. Thursday, according to federal officials.

The man was a subcontractor and not a Google employee, according to the FBI.

The man went into Oakland Christian School around 3 p.m. Thursday and repeatedly asked to speak with the principal, according to officials. The school is at 3075 Shimmons, near The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The principal was not available and class was not in session, officials said. The man left in a dark-colored, late-model sedan, authorities said.

Authorities initially said the man claimed to be a Google employee and was wearing a navy-blue jacket with the company’s logo. Investigators have determined he was not employed with Google.
