Northbound Interstate 75 has reopened at Interstate 696 after two semis collided Thursday morning and spilled fuel onto the roadway, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

A fuel spill still blocks the left lanes of northbound I-75 near I-696.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. near the I-696 bridge over I-75, MDOT spokeswoman Diane Cross said. Officials initially left one lane open before closing all of northbound by 7:45 a.m. All lanes were reopened by noon Thursday.

It was unclear if anyone was injured during the crash or if any other vehicles were involved. Michigan State Police officials were not immediately available for comment.
