A Florida man was jailed this week after allegedly threatening his family with a knife after a fight over a generator, Bloomfield Township police reported.

David Drouillard had been staying with relatives in the 6000 block of Indianwood Trail during the recent widespread power outage, but he and the homeowners started arguing Monday about “the use of the generator power,” investigators said in a statement.

The argument escalated and the 58-year old “threatened to stab them” and officers, the release read.

Drouillard was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

He was later arraigned by 48th District Court Judge Diane D’Agostini and held at Oakland County Jail when unable to post his $50,000 bond, records show.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 5 before Judge Marc Barron at 48th District Court in Bloomfield Hills.
