Oakland County names health officer
Pontiac — The chief of administrative services for the Oakland County Health Division has been named the county’s health officer.
Leigh-Anne Stafford, 41, will begin her new post May 1 after being appointed by county Executive L. Brooks Patterson, according to a news release. She replaces Kathy Forzley, who recently became head of the county’s Health and Human Services Department.
Stafford, who has worked for the county since 2000, will manage 384 employees in the health division.
“Leigh-Anne’s energy, outlook, and qualifications will help Oakland County maintain its exceptional reputation as a public health leader in Michigan,” Patterson said in a statement. “She is a positive presence in the Health Division.”
Stafford joined Oakland County as a public health sanitarian and was promoted to emergency preparedness specialist in 2004. She also was a user support specialist and supervisor of planning and evaluation for the health division before being named chief of administrative services in 2011.
