A 66-year-old Oxford Township man was “floating face down,” and dead, in a lake at Oxford Hills Golf Course Monday afternoon.

It was just before 2:10 p.m. when the man was found floating in the water near the first hole of the golf course, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The man was an employee of the course who’d been cutting the grass at the time. The riding mower was found nearby.

Police believe there was no foul play in the man’s death. Management at the golf course told investigators that the man, who was diabetic, hadn’t been feeling well of late. The Oakland County Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy.
