An 18-year-old man said to have “a history of substance abuse” was found dead in Commerce Township, police said.

It was about 12:40 p.m. Friday when the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the Commerce Township Fire Department responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive man on the 3000 block of Roselawn.

The man’s girlfriend woke up and found him on the bedroom floor, and called 911. But medics who arrived were unable to resuscitate the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the man’s girlfriend told them the man had “a history of substance abuse,” and police found “narcotic paraphernalia” at the scene. They did not find signs of foul play.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner took custody of the man’s body and will perform an autopsy.
