Orion Township – A 71-year-old man died of injuries suffered when he lost control of his 1940 Ford, which ran off Joslyn Road and overturned multiple times, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

George Louis Rappold was northbound about 9:50 a.m. Saturday near Judah Road when he lost control of the classic car, the sheriff’s office said. The vehicle went left of center, crossed over to the left shoulder and off of the roadway.

Rappold, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken to McLaren Hospital-Oakland in critical condition and died the next day.
