After a father-son dispute turned to violence on Sunday in Bloomfield Township, the father was arrested and now faces criminal charges.

Police say trouble started at about 6:17 p.m. Sunday at the Bloomfield Hills Swim & Tennis Club on the 250 block of East Square Lake.

The father, Paul Nagel, 55, and his son, a 16-year-old boy, got into an argument. Police say the elder Nagel allegedly "threw his son into the pool and hit him in the face with his hand, which resulted in a bloody lip."

Police arrested Nagel for domestic violence, and he spent the night in the township jail. The next day, at his arraignment, Nagel was given a cash-or-surety bond of $5,000.
