Oakland Co. deputy critical after being struck by car
An Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy remains in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while he was policing the scene of a car accident, officials said.
Deputy David Hack. 50, is a 17-year veteran of the department and a school liaison at Rochester Adams High School.
Hack was at the scene of an accident around 7:40 a.m. Thursday on Tienken, east of Adams, right in front of the high school. As he was patrolling, another car accident occurred. As he was out of his patrol car policing the second scene, he was hit by a 2005 Ford Taurus. The driver of that car is a 24-year-old Oakland Township resident who was on her way to Oakland University, police say.
Hack was taken to Ascension Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills by the Rochester Hills Fire Department where he is currently in intensive care.
Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
