Orion Township — A convicted bank robber was in custody Sunday and expected to face charges in the weekend holdup of a bank in the township.
The 40-year-old Flint woman, who has a conviction for a 2000 bank holdup in Grand Blanc, was arrested Saturday morning along Interstate 75 in Genesse County with a black canvas bag containing cash stolen about 10 a.m. from a Huntington Bank on Baldwin Road in Orion Township.
A bank employee told Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies a woman had implied she had a weapon and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash she stuffed into a black clothing bag that had been turned inside out. The woman fled north on Georgia road in a black Saturn, later spotted on northbound Interstate 75 and followed by a deputy. She was pulled over on the shoulder of the freeway without incident.
The woman is a suspect in a November bank holdup in Independence Township, deputies said.
