Police received a 911 call about a home invasion and armed robbery in the 2300 block of Elmhurst near Woodward and 12 Mile at 12:47 a.m. Tuesday, according to authorities.

The caller, a female victim, told police two suspects entered her home and robbed her and her husband at gunpoint, officials said. She also told officers one of the suspects pushed her husband to the floor, causing a minor injury.

Police searched the area, summoned a K-9 unit and broadcast a description of the two suspects to nearby law-enforcement agencies.

Shortly after, a Pleasant Ridge Police officer who heard the bulletin stopped a vehicle on southbound Woodward whose occupants matched the two suspects' descriptions, officials said.

There was a third person in the car who was driving and police took all three into custody. Detectives later determined the suspect who was behind the wheel is the victims' granddaughter, according to police.
